NFL Betting – Falcons Should Be Super Bowl Favorites Through Five Weeks

The NFL betting results from the first five weeks of the regular season have impacted the odds to win the Super Bowl this coming February, with one notable adjustment that stands out above the rest. While one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the league is seeded as the favorite to win the Super Bowl with the Houston Texans listed at +400, the other undefeated team isn’t even in the top-three right now. The Texans are followed by the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers at +500 each, with the undefeated Atlanta Falcons following them at +700. While the Falcons haven’t gotten the same respect as the Texans, they have had the tougher schedule so far and could be the better team of the two. Atlanta certainly has the weapons to reach the Super Bowl this sports betting season, and at +700 odds it is definitely worth a play.

Front and center with the talk about the Falcons as a likely Betonline contender is Matt Ryan, who owns the second-best quarterback rating in the NFL through five weeks with over 1,500 passing yards and the second-most touchdown passes with 13. Ryan has one of the best wide receiver tandems in the league with Roddy White and Julio Jones, and Atlanta can also rely on the balance provided by running back Michael Turner and the rushing attack. Making the Falcons an even stronger Super Bowl contender is a defense that ranks seventh against the pass, and 20th overall. While the Falcons have struggled against the run, a small improvement in that area could put them over the top this season.
